ADDICTIVE COMICS WANTS YOU!!!
Addictive Comics is a brand new experience in online comics. Bestselling Author and Podcasting Legend, Scott Sigler, has teamed up with Veteran Comic Creator, Mark Hester, to launch an Intellegent Choice for you online veiwing pleasure.
Our original plan was to produce Scott’s stories in a webcomic format for his loyal readers and, hopefully, to attact new readers. We have started production on two of his novels, The Rookie and Ancestor as well as several of his short stories.
But we quickly realized that there is so much good material out there in books, short stories and podcasts and so little in the world of webcomics, that we could take this much, much further.
So we have started our Addictive Comics Talent Search to bring the very best of today’s fiction to the webcomic readers. We have already teamed up with Decoder Ring Theater, who produces the wonderful Black Jack Justice and Red Panda podcasts, and have started production on the first Black Jack Justice story drawn by the very talented Sami Kivela and have several more “team-ups” in the works.
Now we are looking for more.
If you are a talented writer or artist who would like to get noticed then you may be just the person Addictive Comics is looking for. Please read the information below about us, then the section that pertains to your talents and then send us some samples.
We look forward to hearing from you.

The Addictive Comics Business Plan
Addictive Comics is a brand new startup so the money is tight at this point. We hope to attract advertisers and sponsors, but currently we can make no promise of earning.
However, we do have several important things we CAN offer for a talent creator looking to make a name for his or herself –
Nothing is guaranteed, but Scott and I are committed to making Addictive Comics successful. We will be working hard to promote the sites and build readership — so you should hopefully have many, many people viewing your work. We also hope to build at least two interactive blogs per comic — One at least focused primarily on the artwork (”The Art of XXXXX Blog”) which will increase your exposure and web presence manyfold.
And you not looking at the typical “no-name” startup with Addictive Comics. Scott Sigler is one of the most popular podcasters in the world. He has a huge following for his Audio-Novels and has recently started being published by Crown Publishing (He’s on the front page of their Mystery Section today - www.randomhousecom/crown/category/mystery/). He hit #1 on Amazon in two catagories and #7 overall with his first book, Ancestor, so he is also building a following in the fiction market.
As mentioned above, we already have working with us Decoder Ring Theatre and the talented Sami Kivela as well as professional inker Bill Nichols (of Blue Line Press — the “Comic Paper People”) and Penciller Rob Schneiders (AmeriComics among others.)
Decoder Ring Theatre has a very large following and Gregg has committed to promoting our sites on his podcast and sites. He is very excited to work with us.
Many of the stories we will be producing will be graphic adaptions of popular Podcasts — most of which have already built huge followings of rabid fans.
We will allow (actually, we ENCOURAGE) you to actively take part in the discussions on the “blog” area of the pages (below the artwork) and in the comments sections of the comic pages and the blogs. There are no restrictions (other than good-taste.) You may promote your own work, direct people to your other sites, blogs or ebay stores and even offer artwork for sale. Anything you want for yourself. You can also provide us with banners, links and ads (for your stuff — no affiliates, please) which we will be happy to place on any pages featuring your work.
Again no guarantees, but if all goes well we hope to produce tee-shirts, portfolios, posters, etc. Any of these that we produce and use artwork for, we will negotiate and pay for.
Finally, if all goes well, we plan to publish the stories as comic books when we have enough material. Scott has proven this marketing stratagy works in the fiction market — we believe it will work with comics. If we publish any work by you, we will pay a page rate to be negotiated. In other words, we are asking for your work for the web only. Anything else would be extra and paid for.
Of course you keep the original artwork and may do whatever you want with it (except publish it as a whole story, of course.) If we get the readership we hope, selling it on Ebay might be very lucrative. (That’s what I’m hoping for my pages - Mark.)
If this sounds like something that interests you, please read the contact details below –
Writers
First off - Please do not send unpublished work at this time. We cannot read unpublished work or give you a critique. Please do not send us ideas, plots or stories. Nothing. Any unpublished writing samples will simply be deleted. Sorry — it’s for legal reasons.
Published Writers & Podcasters - Our main business plan for the early stages of Addictive Comics is to produce stories by writers and podcasters who have already built up a following. If you are interested in seeing your creations come to life, increasing your following and having fun working with us — AND if you have a successful fiction podcast or have written published short fiction — please send us a link to your writing or podcast and your contact information. Please do not send unpublished work at this time. We cannot read unpublished work or give you a critique.
If you write short stories — we plan to occassionally offer illustrated short stories (spot illustations as opposed to panel-to-panel) for our readers, so we will still be interested in stories that may not translate well to comics. Please send us a link to your work if you have some of these and are interested. Please do not send unpublished work at this time. We cannot read unpublished work or give you a critique.
New Writers - We are not currently looking for stories by non-published writers (see the reasons above.)

dj mc juneski was born in the bronx, N.Y. at an early age of 12 he
became very interested in music and it’s ryhtmatic tunes
he often watched his dad whale away at the guitar which his father
played on his off time, often teaching on his days off at there
home. while growing up he often was asked by his dad if he wanted to
learn how to play a guitar but he always shyed away from it, he always
found his father so talented asking him why he never turned pro, his
dad’s reply was becasue he was the sole provider and if
it came down to feeding the family or purchasing a gallon of milk the
choice was always family first.
In 1975 at the age of 12 he began paying attention to the block Party
Events and park venues that pioneers Grand Master Flash, cold Crush
Brothers, Ultimate 3 Mc’s, Breakout, Fantastic 5 Mc’s and host of
other pioneers who often battled in the project parks and block
party’s making many summers memorable. He was influeneced so much that
became so interested in the ryhtmatic cutting and or scrathing it was
music to his ears as the saying goes, he grew up having friends that
were experamenting with the sections of a sound
of a song to create different ryhtmatic beats this was so relavant in
his search to begin to develop his skills and about this time his
friend dj Nate-ski asked him if he would come to his house to check
him out and he would show him how to scratch this was all it took to
get the ball rolling in a life long dream of becoming a disc Jockey
and developing the skills needed for the long road ahead. along the
way he meet the most influencial person in his life that became his
mentore dj Felix Sama Formely of wpow/Power96fm one of south florida’s
hotest radio stations, he assited him for almost 12 yrs on and off
appearing on many events and introduced him to radio which
became such a plus, he also assited him on the club circuit’s in the
south florida circle and beyound. he then became a work for hire dj
for the likes of Tito Puente Jr., Tiano Reggaetton Artist,
Candela,K-9, Lokissimo to name a few. this giving him the experience
to rock
on a grander scale lauching him into the next interest of internet
radio in which he played for 305live mix show out of miami,
WYXT/97.9fm youngstown, ohio., and finally his own creation of the now
running http://WWW.HeadQuarterMixShow.com in which he is the program director
and has a manager Juan “Juan Love” Villafane who handles his
management and CTO David Bonnilla who heads the tech dept. these 3
make up the headquartermixshow being broadcasted out thru ustreamtv
and shoutcast presently and our goal was to be able to bring our show
around the world eventually attracting sponsorship and focusing on an
idea that dj’s of all genere’s can be in 1 or more places at one time
thus makin the club experience more memorable by via feed of the
internet and actually viewing the dj’s world wide at venues and thus
increasing the attraction of the many venues oppertunity that will
come from seeing dj’s around the world that are often over looked and
passed bye. Our Over all mission or that of our program director is to
unlock the chains of the expense of traveling and/or promoters, club
owners to get a better choice at what they can venue or show case for
a better experience live and work the avarage club goer to follow the
artist around getting to see him perform in different atmosphier thus
makin the actual event an excellent experience and the promoters/club
owners market there venue for event the ultimate experience.
Also to add the following he has gathered since the launch of his new

Brad Patterson rocked the house at Irvine Improv in Irvine, California early Sunday morning, February 28, 2010, just after midnight. After I was really getting bored with the other comics, who told kinda’ drab, unfunny and listless jokes, Brad stepped up to the plate, as main headliner, and stepped the house up a “whole nother level” with his genius wit, sarcasm and brilliant comedy stylings.
I loved how Brad used “match.com” on the internet to try to find a date and possible female companion. But because there are so many websites today, Brad inadvertently got transferred over to “bonemarrowmatch.com”.
I also thought it was awesome how Brad said he used “match.com” to get a date and at the end of tediously filling out all the required lengthy questionnaire forms…well, by God, he could now be matched with someone with the same qualities as his that he could now date himself!!
Brad took us on a journey that had us belly laughing when we mentioned that one of his indoor cats he raised was named, “Swiffer”, named after the floor cleaning unit for indoor linoleum, tile and hardwood floors. The crowd roared with glee when they heard that the cat was named, “Swiffer”.
Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Brad Patterson is, by far, the best comic to perform in Irvine, California or, and I’ll be frank, anywhere in California since the 2010 Vancouver Olympics got its nasty and shaky start. Brad Patterson was a riot and I look forward to seeing him perform in Southern California again soon.

What do you mean by “please do not submit unpublished work”? I have a webcomic that I publish myself… so that does count? I also have some Batgirl pages that I drew in the hopes of getting into DC comics… will that work?
Please advise. I would like to break into the comic book business but submitting to a big name comic book company requires to go to comic conventions.
