Artwork’s great, but the layouts crowded and frankly, too wordy. It’s a problem with something like BJJ and the genre in general - it’s dialogue-heavy and not very action oriented. It turns the comic into a more textual experience and detracts from the overall screen-friendliness of the material. For example, I am a huge BJJ fan and an even bigger lover of hard-boiled detective fiction - but the BJJ comic bored me. I found myself quickly paging through it, barely skimming all the text, just to get to the end.
